How to make EVERY day a good day

It’s easy to get caught up in all the wonderful and pain in the ass aspects of life. We often overthink, get frustrated or overwhelmed to the point of completely or partially giving up, and end up distracting ourselves. Distractions make up the majority of our time and are at the tips of our fingers. Take some time for yourself, and better your mindset and the way you feel everyday. Below are a couple easy, free steps for yourself, to have a focused, determined, and happier day; feeling good mentally, physically, and spiritually.

1. Visualize

Close your eyes, and visualize your goals. Picture yourself in your dream home, enjoying your ideal vacation, or doing what your most passionate about, it can be anything you desire.                                                                                          (Use pictures/videos or a vision board to stimulate your imagination.)

The same region of the brain is stimulated when visualizing it and actually doing it. It is a powerful technique that knows only the limits you give it.

You can visualize anything you want, in any realm of reality and aspect of your life, it is the power of our imagination to affect reality via your minds’ chemistry, adopting subconscious mental awareness to help nurture your visions into reality.

"We both believe, wholeheartedly, that our thoughts, our feelings, our dreams, our ideas are physical in the universe. That if we dream something, if we picture something, we commit ourselves to it and that it’s a physical thrust towards realization that we can put into the universe. That the universe is not a thing that’s going to push us around. That the world, and people, and situations are not things that are going to push us around. That we are going to… command and demand that the universe become what we want it to be."
Will Smith

My Approach: Incorporate realistic aspects. This helps the gravity of your visualizations. For example, when you picture your dream home, smell the materials within, envision playing with your pet there, cleaning a spill. Imagine driving your dream car down a familiar road, running errands, or a bird pooping on your new car.

These insignificant realities often get overlooked when manifesting our goals, but like looking at a clock during a dream, they immediately relate to our current conscious, and thus, our reality.

Visualize within the first 15 minutes of waking up. Our subconscious mind is most receptive when transitioning out of and into sleep. Feel the happiness and emotion when you visualize.

  • Subconscious awareness of desired reality
  • Syncs emotions and thoughts towards goals
  • Mental preparedness to succeed

2. Journal

Write down your thoughts. This can be your goals, your affirmations, ideas, dreams. Write anything you feel the desire to write and feel the emotions behind them when writing. Keep a positive, loving, and gratuitous tone if possible.

This practice helps structure your thoughts, focus your mind, and keep track of your progress. Having another tool to view and digest your thoughts makes dealing with them more efficient.

Journaling traces the source of your thoughts and helps eliminate negative thoughts, accepting and transferring their emotions and energy unto another form than just thought. Free yourself of any clouding or negative thoughts, and focus your thoughts on what you want in life.

My Approach: Focus your thoughts on positivity and manifesting what you want in life. Channeling that energy unto paper and physicaly writing them can do wonders to boost your mood and mental state.

  • Self-reflection
  • Mental organization
  • Mental clarity

3. Exercise

Get your blood flowing. Spend 10-15 minutes doing some form of light physical activity.

  • Stretching
  • Yoga
  • Bodyweight exercises

All are great, light intensity options to get blood flowing, awaken your body, and release dopamine to physically feel good. Routine physical activity has endless benefits, physical and cardiovascular health, mental cognition, emotional well being, reduce risk of disease, the list goes on.

  • Immediate mental, physical, and emotional health boost
  • Elevate mood (Dopamine secretion)
  • Reduce Stress

4. Affirmations

Write down, and speak out loud positive statements. Transitioning your now calm mind’s perception to see through a lens of positivity and self love. This encourages your reactions and outlook throughout your day to be positive, and mainly, for you to believe in yourself.

Believing in yourself, is the first and most important step towards manifesting what you want in your life. It is step one in bringing your goals to fruition.

Goals and personal desires of your physical well-being, mental fortitude, spiritual awakening, work goals, family and friend relations, dreams, financial security; any aspect of life you want to improve.

This practice, with repetition, will make you believe it and subconsciously become aware of it as a necessity. The universe will present you opportunities towards your goals that you will now be conscious of.

  • Positive belief of self and your goals
  • Positive mindset
  • Conditions your mind to attaining your goals

5. Silence

10 minutes of silence. You’re going to think all day. Dedicate the first 10 minutes to breathing, meditating, prayer – anything that quiets the mind and calms your thoughts.

Morning silence enhances critical thinking and reduces stress, allowing you to start your day mentally dialed in.

My Approach: Stay in bed, close your eyes, and focus on your breath for 10 minutes. Take slow deep breaths, and mentally say ‘in’ and ‘out’ for each inhale and exhale.

  • Subconscious awareness of desired reality
  • Syncs emotions and thoughts towards goals
  • Mental preparedness to succeed

6. Reading

Read something of interest for 10 minutes. A chapter of your current book. An article of interest. Read something positive and make learning and education something enjoyable.

This will stimulate your mind, dial in your focus, and exercise comprehension early in the day to tune your mind for what the day may hold.

  • Mental stimulation
  • Improve brain connectivity
  • Increase comprehension

You are the most important thing before anything else, in doing these practices you will prioritize yourself before everything in life.

This is essential to give your best to everyone and everything around you, and perceive everything and everyone around you the best way possible. You’ll be surprised how you will learn to love and receive everything in life as a positive thing!

We must remember how important self-love and caring for our mental, emotional, and spiritual health is. It is these aspects of ourselves, that we use consciously and subconsciously  to create our reality – ALL our life experiences stem from this. Our perception is a powerful thing, and it determines whether our reception of every thing in life is either positive or negative; it is up to you to live the life you choose and feel the way that you do.

It is easy to put blame onto others, but the second we own it, we empower ourselves and control it, rather than it control us through our emotions and reactions.

These steps will program all aspects of yourself to put positivity first, they will keep you grounded within, to have solidarity when dealing with life and not let things affect you unless you allow it. Reduce anxiety, fear, and negativity in your life by working on your inner strength and focus with these morning routines. The effort you put towards yourself will strengthen you and make you impenetrable within, giving you control over your inner sanctity and thus, the world around you. Inner peace is a paradigm, what you feel internally affects your immediate external reality.

Take 10 minutes for each of these and try them tomorrow morning, it doesn’t take much and it’s effects are exponential. Don’t neglect yourself, this is easy work that can have profound effects for you. Love and put yourself first so you can change the world you live in.

Try it and see for yourself!
